My Story
Hi, I’m Antra 🤍

I am a lash tech based in Ireland, owner of ALS Lashes Training Academy and founder of ALS LASHES.
I'm originally from Latvia 🇱🇻, I moved to Ireland 🇮🇪 when I was only 13 - back in 2010. After my Leaving Cert, I didn’t have a clear plan. I felt the pressure to choose something, so I went to college for a design degree, hoping I’d figure it out along the way.
It was during that time that I unexpectedly found a passion for fitness. After getting a bachelor’s degree in design, I qualified as a Personal Trainer, and teaching classes became something I genuinely loved - it gave me confidence, purpose, and a sense of fulfilment.
Then Covid hit, and everything changed. Fitness classes stopped overnight, and like so many others, I had to pivot. I moved into healthcare, working as a home help for just over a year, before going on to work in a pharmacy for two years.
Truthfully, I dreaded going into work. I was burnt out, rarely had weekends off, and even when holidays were approved, they were often taken back because I was “needed.”
As an introvert, dealing with difficult situations and unhappy people drained me deeply. I took things to heart, always trying to do my best - yet instead of feeling appreciated, I often felt unseen.
I gave everything to every job I had, but it became expected rather than valued. I had no time for myself - no hobbies, no gym, no travel - and lived with a constant sad, heavy feeling. I’d leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark, feeling like life was passing me by.
That’s when I decided to take a lash course. At the time, it was never meant to be a career - just a hobby, something creative and enjoyable for me.
But that small decision changed everything. I left my full-time pharmacy job just nine months after completing the lash course to start my own business.
Four years later, lashing has become my full-time career. I’ve built a strong reputation in Ireland, completed 14 lash courses, and pushed myself beyond my comfort zone by entering competitions - bringing home 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies. Today, I’m proud to say I’m also a judge in those same competitions.
I’ve since opened my own training academy, and in my very first year of teaching, I trained 29 students in 1:1 settings - many of whom now own their own salons, work from home, or rent within the industry.
I also launched my own lash brand after feeling that product quality in Ireland was being overlooked. Too many lashes looked and felt cheap, didn’t last, or were uncomfortable for clients.
I spent two years testing products myself before ever launching - because quality matters to me. In our first year, over 350 lash artists in Ireland purchased from the brand, with regular clients now based in Ireland, Europe, and the USA.
The best part? I’ve built all of this from my home-based salon.
Why I do what I do?
I’m here to break the stigma that you need a large or fancy premises to be successful. I’m here to show you that you can start your own business too!
Even better - I can guide you to a point where you wake up excited to go to work. To have a job that is your passion and never truly feels like work.
I help lash artists build careers that support their lifestyle — not the other way around. 🤍
